Welcome to my WordPress blog site. I will be using this site to make comments and observations on topics that catch my attention. I am normally a very optimistic person but lately I have been feeling rather pessimistic about the state of my country, the good ‘ol USofA, as well as the rest of the world. I know that the world turmoil that is going on is also a function of the USA vacating the role of world leader because our current president believes it is not America’s place to tell others what to do. Because of our past sins, we are no better than anyone else. Or so he would have Americans believe. The fact is that we do hold a leadership position and can influence other power brokers around the world who see an opportunity to grab while there is no sheriff in town.
So the stage is being set for more aggressive moves. Study history. To me this looks too much like pre-WWII. And I am worried. Americans cannot depend on the “Best and the Brightest” being in Washington DC. Those people who are our elected representatives are afraid to do the right thing. Even in the face of disaster. Maybe we, the people can help them.
